DANIEL DAVID MOLI BETTER KNOWN AS BOOGIE
is a contemporary street artist born in 1995, Congo Kinshasa. He lives and works in manchester, United Kingdom.
Not your typical artist story, Boogie’s family emigrated to the Uk at the age of 10, and not too long after he fell in love with football and started playing in the street with friends.
And it was at that moment Boogie caught the eyes of scouts. In 2009 he signed for liverpool fc where he stayed and played for 3 years before signing a proffesional contract with Wolverhampton wonderers in January 2012. But he’s career was plagued by injuries and spent more time in the sideline than playing.
Summer 2018 after Boogie spent a few month playing abroad in Estonia, he decided to permanently move up north to Manchester and that’s where his art career started. With the decision of ending his football career boogie started painting on trainers and selling them to friends and eventually moving on to canvases. After studying his idols such as BASQUIAT, ANDY WARHOL, RETNA, GEORGE CONDO he found a graffiti style of work inspired by those artists and developed his own style of work.
The following year Boogie did a collaboration with a major retail store THE COUTURE CLUB, after a sell out debut collection they went on to do a further three collections.
Fast forward to 2023 today Boogie had various collaborations with renowned brands such as Puma, Adobe, Funko, boohooMan, Yelir World, and even appeared on the mornig tv show GOOD MORNING BRITAIN. Boogie is also known for his commission work from football stars such as Jack Grealish, Antonio Rudiger, Luke shaw, Riyad Mahrez and many more. and he has contributed to create unique experiences on every one of these occasions!
